Shady

Chickadee needs shade. Need I say more?

Measure Up

Since my new goal is to fit into smaller pants, I thought it would be fantastic to match it with a measuring tape.  I love these little retractable tape measures. They fit in my purse, or anywhere.  That's convenient because I can measure anywhere I go.

Lemonade

This is where we got our lemonade recipe. It's really divine. At first, after juicing an entire bag of lemons, I only got the sour part. It was very disappointing, until Hubbend stirred it up for me and gave me another glass. Silly JBS. There is also a recipe for Diana's Raspberry Cordial, and Marilla's Plum Pudding with Sauce. It's a fabulous book, and if you've any smallish girls around they will adore it.

I'm Making Ice Cream!

I'm making ice cream today.  It's been fun.  For me anyway.  The kids have enjoyed helping me, but I am not enjoying running back to the store to pick up more whipping cream, or not eating lunch until 1:30-2:00.

The kids are putting on a lemonade stand.  They can't make change you see, they are too young.  So, we have to make everything worth a dollar.  We're making ice cream sandwich cookies, because it's HOT.  And we're making lovely lemonade from scratch, that I will post the recipe book for later on.

Get it.  The kids deserve to make ice cream with absolutely no corn of any kind.  No corn starch, corn syrup, nada.  Just basic pronounceable ingredients.  Mmmm.

I'm not going to eat any.  Much.

Ashes, Ashes, We All Sit Up Again

This is the cushion that we use to help Chickadee keep from falling over all the time.   It's like a wedge between her and the floor, lifting her bottom up and elongating the spine.  It's been heaven sent because she can sit for up to half an hour now, where it was getting pretty minimal before.

It even helps at Grandma's where there is only a rigid wood high chair, and we didn't want to bring the wheelchair into the house all the time to eat.  Chickadee prefers to sit this way now.

It inflates easily and deflates just as easily, yet is durable enough to stand up to Beansprout's abuse and my demands.  We love it.

Nostalgia

Today I'm feeling rather nostalgic about this particular item.  This is what I use to fix what we eat for Chickadee.  She eats one to two grinderfuls each meal.  It's cheap, but she likes the textures.  I always thin it down if it is dry with some of her soy milk.  She's just crazy about it, and feels much more confident eating from it.

I wish that we could go on with it forever this way.  As unrealistic as it may be.  It's getting longer, and messier and impossibler.  But, it's been a good run.  And I'm nostalgic.

Teaching Lesson

If anybody wants one, I'll send you a copy.  Let me know your address, and I'll send it to you with my teaching schedule.  We can virtually simulate a classroom.  It could be fun!

Chickadee's Favorite Toy

Today, I thought I'd share Chickadee's favorite toy. She loves this thing, and she can manipulate it easily without a great deal of hand control.  This one toy is perhaps the only one that has survived all of her regressions.  I purchased it after her primary regression left her unable to use any of the toys we had at the time.  She needs the inner buttons pushed, as they are quite fine motor operated.  But the big buttons are easily accessible.
